Red Devils have been monitoring playmaker all summer long.
Manchester United have been given renewed hope in their long-running pursuit of FC Barcelona midfield player Thiago Alcantara, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The Spain international has been the subject of intense speculation of late linking him with a possible £17 million transfer to Old Trafford when the summer transfer window reopened at the start of this month.
New Red Devils head coach David Moyes is reportedly a massive fan of the 22-year-old’s, having tracked the Spain Under-21 international from his time managing Everton, and had been confident of bringing the Spaniard to the north west for next season.
And now reports in Spain say that the player has been cropped out of the Liga champions’ squad photo for the new campaign on the Catalans’ official Instagram account, giving United hope that Thiago could be heading their way this summer after all.
Thiago has appeared in just 101 matches for Barca in all competitions since making his debut in the 2008-09 season, with the youngster said to have now grown frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at Camp Nou.
