David Wilson’s attempt to return from a season ending neck injury from 2013 hit a snag during practice today.
The Giants’ former starting RB David Wilson has been attempting to return after suffering a serious neck injury that caused him to miss more than half of the 2013 season – but after suffering an injury in practice today, it may take him even longer to return to the field again.
During Tuesday’s practice Wilson suffered a “burner,” also known as a stinger, which is a pinched neck nerve that can cause muscle weakness and pain down an arm.
Kimberly Jones tweeted updates on HC Tom Coughlin’s reaction to the news:
NYG RB David Wilson didn't finish practice after sustaining a burner. Tom Coughlin: "We were all praying" for no setback. This could be one.

NYG RB David Wilson will undergo tests after suffering what Tom Coughlin called a "burner." I'm told NYG "will be careful" w/him.

Wilson led the league in KR yards in 2012 and was named the team’s starter in 2013, but fumbling problems in the first game resulted in his benching and he injured his neck in Week 5 against the Eagles.
