The New York Jets suffered their third loss in a row at the expense of the Detroit Lions, and quarterback Geno Smith is continuing to receive an earful from fans.
One fan heckled the quarterback, which caused him to snap and yell an F-bomb at the heckling fan.
Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson jumped to his quarterback’s defense. “Shut up. If that’s the case, produce a child to make it to the NFL and then let’s see what he’s got. Other than that, just shut up,” Richardson said to NJ.com.
However, Smith is causing the Jets to be concerned about his play since he failed to make an impact and committed two turnovers. The struggling quarterback has committed seven turnovers in his first game.
Jets fans are beginning to jump on the start Michael Vick bandwagon, and they won’t get any more quiet if Smith continues to commit costly turnovers and make the offense sputter.
