Tight end tests positive for banned steroids.
The National Football League hit New York Jets tight end Kellen Winslow with a four-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
The veteran Winslow is expected to return for the Jets’ November 17 game against Buffalo.
The league declined to say what substance Winslow tested positive for.
The 30-year-old Winslow, who signed with the Jets in June, missed the majority of last season, playing in just one game for New England.
He is recovering from a knee injury and was not expected to play Sunday against Pittsburgh.
Winslow had 17 catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns over the Jets’ first five games this season.
