NRL club set to shake up the side after horror start to the season.
BREAKING: New Zealand Warriors to sack Matthew Elliott as head coach. MORE TO COME
— Chris Garry (@chrisgarry1) April 6, 2014
New Zealand Warriors coach Matt Elliott is set to be the first casualty from the NRL coaching ranks, with news surfacing that he will lose his job just five weeks into the season.
The 29-year-old joined the club in 2013 when he was thrown a lifeline by the Warriors, after not coaching since his tenure at the Penrith panthers was ended in 2011.
In his 29 games in charge, Elliott only managed a win percentage of 45, and their embarrassing 37-6 loss to the Cronulla Sharks in round five was seemingly the final straw for the Warriors front-office.
