Joel Campbell and Carl Jenkinson could be set for loan spells at Newcastle United as part of the deal taking Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal.
With a deal to take French right back Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United to Arsenal set to be finalised in the coming days, it has been suggested in the media that two young Arsenal stars could be moving the other way on loan deals to help the prospective transfer get over the line.
The Daily Mail have suggested that right back Carl Jenkinson could be set for a spell at St. James’ Park, with the England international potentially offering a direct replacement for Debuchy to Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
Elsewhere, the Chronicle have reported that striker Joel Campbell could also be sent to the North East on a loan deal as a part of the Debuchy move, with Campbell set to return to the Gunners with his star multiplied after a wonderful World Cup campaign with his native Costa Rica.
Campbell has spent recent seasons on loan with Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiakos as he awaits a work permit but, with his papers now in order, it looks as though Arsene Wenger may be willing to let the 22 year-old spend one more year out on loan before indoctrinating him into the first team squad at the Emirates Stadium.
