U19 Tournament takes a hiatus due to financial issues
The 2013/14 NextGen series, a youth team version of the Champions League, will no longer take place due to financial the concerns.
The tournament which pitches top teams across Europe against each other, will take a hiatus this season as the organisers are unable to find a sponsor.
Clubs such as Liverpool, Inter Milan and Chelsea had previously entered the competition which began in 2011.
According to Goal.com, Co founders Mark Warburton and Justin Andrews. said: “It is hugely disappointing that an event of this nature, designed to assist with the development of Europe’s elite players, should have to take such action, but we hope to be back next season with an even better tournament.”
Next season UEFA plan to launch their own version of the Tournament,
