Neymar will not be leaving Barcelona for Manchester United any time soon, the player’s father has said.
The Brazilian ace was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window, however, he remained at the Catalan club as expected.
Neymar was reported to be close to signing a new and improved deal with Barcelona, but Neymar Snr says his son is perfectly happy with his current position and is not looking for a move.
“People can relax, Neymar is staying at Barca,” he told Cuatro, as reported by Daily Express.
“We don’t need to reach an agreement with Barca because he has three more years on his contract.”
The 23-year-old has starred for Barcelona since joining the club from Santos in 2013, scoring 32 goals in 61 La Liga appearances for the club.
Neymar combined with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to create the most deadly attack in European football, helping the club to a historic treble last season.
