The NFL announced its three players of the week in the NFC for Week 3 of the 2014 NFL season.
Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week, and Atlanta Falcons KR Devin Hester was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Ryan was 21-of-24 passing for 286 yards and three scores with no picks, generating a passer rating of 155.9. Throwing for 11.92 yards per attempt, Ryan piled up those big numbers before exiting midway through the third quarter.
Chancellor had An interception, one forced fumble, two passes defensed and nine tackles in Seattle’s 26-20 overtime win over the Denver Broncos.
Hester set an NFL record by recording his 20th non-offensive TD, beating out legendary Falcons Hall of Famer CB/KR Deion Sanders for the distinction.
