The conference championship games of the NFL playoffs will take place on Sunday, and the stakes are as high as ever as the winner of each game will advance to the Super Bowl.
The Seattle Seahawks’ defense of their Super Bowl is alive and well as they will be playing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship as they look to return to the big game.
The New England Patriots will face the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship as they hope to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2011 season.
The Colts pulled off the upset of the week as they unexpectedly eliminated the Denver Broncos. The Packers and Colts are underdogs by seven points, but they will hope to prove that they belong in the Super Bowl discussion.
Here is a power ranking of the final four teams.
4. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts defense has been phenomenal in the playoffs, which is in contrast to the regular season as they allowed 51 points to the Pittsburgh Steelers in one game and 42 to the Patriots in another game. Although they held the Broncos to 13 points, it will be much more difficult to stop a healthy Tom Brady and LeGarrette Blount than a hobbled Peyton Manning.
Quarterback Andrew Luck will also need to make less mistakes against a Patriots team that will instantly capitalize on turnovers. Despite having an overall solid game against the Broncos, Luck threw two interceptions. The running game will also need to take advantage of a susceptible Patriots run defense. Dan Herron has shown promise, but he will need to have a great game to take pressure off Luck.
