4. Denver Broncos
The Broncos had a December to forget, but they finished strongly with a 47-14 win over the Oakland Raiders and still had a 3-1 record. Quarterback Peyton Manning has not been the same, but running back C.J. Anderson has stepped up as the feature back. He finished with 849 rushing yards and eight touchdowns despite making only seven starts.
The defense has also looked much stronger after struggling last season. Manning is still one of the elite passers in the league as well, as shown by 39 touchdown passes being considered an “off year.” Since the Broncos have a weak defense in the Colts to battle, it will be a major upset if they don’t at least make it to the AFC Championship. They will be clear underdogs if them returning to the Super Bowl goes through the New England Patriots though.
