Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews has been fined $22,050 for an illegal blindside hit on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson after an interception.

The Green Bay Packers appeared to be well on their way to the Super Bowl as they led, 16-0, at halftime against the Seattle Seahawks.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw four interceptions, making their win even more improbable. After one of his interceptions, he was hit late by Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews.
This may have caused the Packers’ inexplicable defensive meltdown at the end of the fourth quarter. Matthews has been fined $22,050 for an illegal blindside hit on Wilson.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Matthews’ fine on Twitter.
