Lions seal last-gasp win over Falcons: Wembley treated to thriller.
Dolphins take on Raiders at Wembley: London set for first NFL game of the season.
Following the on-going success of the International Series games at Wembley Stadium, the NFL have announced the schedule for the 2015 season.
UK fans and those from around Europe travelling to the games were treated to three contests in 2014, with the Miami Dolphins defeating the Oakland Raiders before a thriller between the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons which saw the latter come out on top with a last-second field goal.
While that was arguably the most entertaining game thus far, the International Series is wrapped up for the year on November 9 when the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Dallas Cowboys. However, as Wembley continues to sell-out, the NFL have announced a fresh batch of games for next season.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has previously spoken of the success of taking the game beyond the American borders, while speculation over a franchise in the UK continues to be discussed.
While that appears to be a few years away, there is no denying that the popularity of the regular season games continues to grow, and as a result, the next six teams to take to the Wembley pitch will be contributing to the continued commercial drive of the sport.
The three NFL fixtures to be played at Wembley Stadium in the 2015/16 season:
New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins – Sunday October 4
Buffalo Bills @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Sunday October 25
Detroit Lions @ Kansas City Chiefs – Sunday November 1
