Lions beat Falcons – Lions rally to defeat Atlanta Falcons, 22-21
The Detroit Lions improved to 7-2 and kept their lead in the NFC North with a 20-16 win over the Miami Dolphins. The game was a defensive battle, and both teams exchanged leads throughout the game.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a touchdown pass to running back Theo Riddick with 29 seconds remaining. Stafford finished with 280 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson shined in his return from an ankle injury as he caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Golden Tate continued to be featured in the passing game with 11 catches for 109 yards.
For the Dolphins, quarterback Ryan Tannehill was kept mostly in check as he threw for 207 yards and one touchdown with one interception.
The Dolphins’ running game was quiet as it was held to 50 rushing yards by the titanic Lions defensive line. Wide receiver Mike Wallace had a solid performance with five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.
