Lions Falcons preview
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reeling as they have lost four games in a row, and they are scheduled to play the Atlanta Falcons next, who are also struggling mightily.
The Buccaneers recently lost to the Cleveland Browns, 22-17. Quarterback Mike Glennon threw for 260 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions on 17-of-33 passing.
Head coach Lovie Smith has had enough of losing, and he benched Glennon. Josh McCown will return as the starter for the Buccaneers after healing from a hand injury.
Bobby Rainey will resume his new role as the Buccaneers’ starting running back since Doug Martin is still nursing an ankle injury. Even when healthy, Martin has struggled throughout the season after being considered a bounceback candidate.
Meanwhile, the Falcons will be returning from their bye week, which they were able to use to recover from a heartbreaking loss to the Detroit Lions. They held a 21-0 lead at halftime but reminded fans of why they have a losing record as they blew their lead.
Quarterback Matt Ryan was unable to put the game away, but he had an overall solid performance against a tough Lions defense with 228 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 20-of-27 passing.
The Falcons offense will be able to take advantage of a weak Buccaneers defense, and they should be able to overcome being on the road against arguably the worst team in the NFL.
Prediction: Falcons 31, Buccaneers 21
