The New Orleans Saints were stunned at home by the San Francisco 49ers as they lost, 27-24, in overtime.

The San Francisco 49ers desperately needed a win to keep themselves afloat in a competitive NFC playoff race, and they achieved exactly that with a 27-24 overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints on the road.
This marks the Saints’ first loss at home this season, and they fell to 4-5 as the 49ers improved their record to 5-4.
The Saints were just one stop away from a win, but 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick heaved a deep pass to wide receiver Michael Crabtree on 4th-and-10, and it was completed for 51 yards.
Kicker Phil Dawson then made a 45-yard field goal. The Saints appeared to have a game-winning touchdown at the end, but tight end Jimmy Graham was penalized for offensive pass interference.
After a fumble in overtime by quarterback Drew Brees, Dawson made the game-winning field goal.
Kaepernick threw for 210 yards and a touchdown pass on 14-of-32 passing, and running back Frank Gore ran for 81 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown despite dropping several passes.
For the Saints, Brees threw for 292 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions on 28-of-47 passing. Running back Mark Ingram ran for 120 yards on 27 carries. Tight end Jimmy Graham caught 10 passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
