The New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 42-20 on Sunday Night Football in Week 11 of NFL action.
As they have many times this season, the Patriots took the lead in the 1st quarter and never gave it up. It wasn’t QB Tom Brady, but undrafted RB Jonas Gray that dominated this game with 199 yards rushing and 4 TDs – one in each quarter. Brady threw two INTs but also added two second half TDs to Tim Wright and Rob Gronkowski to keep the Patriots well ahead of the Colts in the 4th quarter.
The Colts were unable to get going on offense with only 19 yards rushing on 17 attempts. But the defense gave up over 500 yards of offense and allowed the Patriots to convert 9 of 12 third downs. Colts QB Andrew Luck struggled to move the ball without the running game as the Patriots committed to the pass. He threw two TDs on the day but never got within closer than 4 points against New England.
With the win the Patriots rise to 8-2 on the season and now have the best record in the AFC. Their next game will be at home against the Detroit Lions.
With the loss the Colts move down to only 6-4, one game ahead of the Houston Texans. The Colts will next play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second of three home games to finish November.
