The Arizona Cardinals have lost starting quarterback Carson Palmer for the entire season, but backup Drew Stanton was able to lead the Cardinals to victory against the St. Louis Rams with a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
The defense came to his aid later on as they scored two touchdowns on turnovers, and the Cardinals beat the Rams, 31-14. The Cardinals will receive the ultimate test as they face the Detroit Lions, who are also a powerhouse in the NFC right now.
Running back Andre Ellington was held to 23 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against the Rams, and he will face an even tougher test against a dominant Lions defense.
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will also face a major challenge even though he has caught fire lately, catching nine passes for 112 yards against the Rams.
For the Lions, quarterback Matthew Stafford showed his clutch gene once again as he threw the game-winning touchdown pass to running back Theo Riddick with 29 seconds left.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson shined in his return as he caught seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and Golden Tate added 11 catches for 109 yards.
The Cardinals will face a tough test from the Lions offense and defense, but they have proven they can win with Stanton at quarterback, and they will be at home.
Prediction: Cardinals 21, Lions 17
