The New Orleans Saints (4-6) host the Baltimore Ravens (6-4) in a Monday Night football matchup in Week 12 of the NFL season.
Despite their lowly record, the Saints are actually leading the NFC South division since all of the other teams have seven losses or more. The Saints are still, in typical fashion, putting up incredible point totals on an almost weekly basis with QB Drew Brees, who is already over 3,000 yards this season. The struggles for the Saints have fallen on the defense, who last year were a top five unit, but now are in the bottom ten. In a division race where even the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only two games out of the division lead, the Saints could really use this win to give them some breathing room.
The Ravens, after starting the season 5-2, dropped two straight AFC North division games to the Steelers and Bengals before a win over the Titans to give them their 6-4 record. With all of the other AFC North teams currently at 7-4, the Ravens need this win in order to stay in the thick of things now that they have only one division game left. QB Joe Flacco is having arguably his best season since his late-season surge in 2012 that led to the Superbowl, and the Ravens finally have their running game with Justin Forsett filling the void left by Ray Rice.
Prediction: Ravens – The formula for beating the Saints in the Superdome has been discovered: run the ball down their throats. Now that the Ravens have a running game that they can put weight on instead of relying on Joe Flacco’s arm, the Ravens have all they need to keep Drew Brees on the bench and come away with the win.
