49ers Giants preview
The New York Giants are riding a five-game losing streak, and they are hoping to play spoiler against the Dallas Cowboys, who are 7-3 and tied for first place in the NFC East.
The Giants lost, 16-10, to the San Francisco 49ers as quarterback Eli Manning had his worst game of the season. He threw five interceptions and threw his fifth when the Giants were at the 49ers’ goal line.
Running back Rashad Jennings was underwhelming in his return from injury as he was held to 59 yards on 18 carries. Wide receiver Rueben Randle was heavily targeted and caught seven passes for 112 yards.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are coming off a bye week and received a relief when the Philadelphia Eagles lost. They won their most recent game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quarterback Tony Romo threw three touchdown passes in that game, and running back DeMarco Murray reached 100 rushing yards for the ninth time this season.
Wide receiver Dez Bryant caught six passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cowboys offense has been fantastic this season, but the Giants defense looked promising against the 49ers. If Manning can get back on track, an upset is not out of the question. Jennings should be better against a weaker defense after shaking off rust against the 49ers.
Prediction: Giants 27, Cowboys 24
