49ers Giants preview
The San Francisco 49ers are still in the hunt for a playoff spot in a competitive NFC, and they hold a 6-4 record after escaping with a narrow 16-10 victory over the New York Giants.
The 49ers defense came up with five interceptions from Giants quarterback Eli Manning, and running back Frank Gore ran for 95 yards on 19 carries.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had a forgettable performance with 193 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-29 passing, but he made enough plays to help the 49ers win, including a 48-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to wide receiver Michael Crabtree.
Meanwhile, the Redskins are coming off a surprising loss at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the team is reportedly fed up with quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Griffin was held to 207 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, but running back Alfred Morris continued to play well as he ran for 96 yards on 20 carries.
The Redskins have lost two games in a row, and playing in San Francisco does not bode well for their chances. The 49ers will be playing with a high sense of urgency so that they can remain a playoff contender.
Prediction: 49ers 28, Redskins 17
