Not even the frigid winds of Arrowhead Stadium could slow down Broncos QB Peyton Manning or RB C.J. Anderson.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 29-16 on Sunday Night Football in Week 13 of the NFL season.
Broncos QB Peyton Manning quickly gave Denver the lead with two TD passes in the first quarter – first to Demaryius Thomas and later to RB C.J. Anderson. They extended their lead to 17-0 in the middle of the second quarter with a FG from newly-signed PK Connor Barth. Chiefs QB Alex Smith responded with a TD to Anthony Fasano to cut the deficit to 17-7. The Broncos responded with a 2nd FG to end the half.
C.J. Anderson took control of the game for the Broncos in the second half, finishing the game with 32 carries for 168 yards, helping the Broncos move up and down the field and gain three more FGs in the second half. The Chiefs were only able to put up a FG and a TD from Alex Smith to RB Jamaal Charles, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Broncos defense. The final score was 29-16.
With the win (and an earlier loss by the New England Patriots) the Broncos gained a tie for the AFC lead with a 9-3 record. Their next game will be at home against the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs loss drops them to 7-5, but still has them deep in the AFC Wildcard playoff race. The Chiefs next game will be on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.
