The Dallas Cowboys achieved their first winning season since 2009 by improving to 9-4 with a 41-28 victory over the Chicago Bears.
The game appeared to be over in the third quarter when the Cowboys held a 35-7 lead, but the Bears scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to trim the Cowboys’ lead to 38-28.
This was made possible by an onside kick recovery, and Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick yelled at his team in frustration on the sideline.
After the Cowboys extended their lead with a field goal, Scandrick kept up his intensity and sealed the game with an interception.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was nearly flawless as he threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-26 passing, and running back DeMarco Murray ran for 179 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries.
Wide receiver Cole Beasley caught three passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns while Dez Bryant led the Cowboys in receiving with six receptions for 82 yards.
For the Bears, quarterback Jay Cutler threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 32-of-46 passing.
