The Minnesota Vikings are not likely to make the playoffs, but they can still finish strong and achieve a winning season as they currently hold a 5-7 record.
They snapped a two-game losing streak with a 31-13 win over the Carolina Panthers, and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater played solidly as he threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-21 passing.
The Vikings’ special teams came up with two touchdowns, and each of them were on blocked punts.
Meanwhile, the Jets lost their second consecutive game on Monday Night Football to the Miami Dolphins. However, they were able to keep this one close even though they ultimately lost, 16-13.
Quarterback Geno Smith continued to struggle as he was held to 65 yards on 7-of-13 passing, and he threw an interception to end the game.
The running game, which is known as the “ground and pound” in New York, took off as running back Chris Johnson rushed for 105 yards on 17 carries.
Chris Ivory added another 62 yards on 16 carries, and wide receivers Percy Harvin and Jeremy Kerley contributed in the running game as well. The Jets rushed for a total of 277 yards.
They will have to overcome the Vikings on the road though, and they will likely be worn out from their furious effort against the Dolphins.
Prediction: Vikings 24, Jets 17
