The Baltimore Ravens host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15 of the NFL season.
After beating the Dolphins last week, the Ravens now control their own destiny for a spot in the playoffs, and could even win the AFC North title if the Bengals and Steelers stumble along the way. But the road will not necessarily be easy as they still have to play the Texans and Browns – both of whom are also fighting for their playoff lives. Nonetheless, the Ravens have benefited greatly from RB Justin Forsett, who has replaced Ray Rice nicely, and the team is running on all cylinders offensively with QB Joe Flacco finally looking like the Top 15 QB the Ravens have always wanted.
The Jaguars season on the other hand has been a nightmare – much like the previous few – falling to 2-11 on the season after last week’s loss to the Texans. Though with a game against the Tennessee Titans next week in what might determine the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Jaguars may be able to lose their way into the most coveted consolation prize in sports. Rookie QB Blake Bortles hasn’t shown the franchise QB potential the Jaguars are looking for just yet, but the development is slow and steady and also stunted by the fact that the team has virtually no offensive weapons. After seeing RB Melvin Gordon and WR Amari Cooper fall short of the Heisman trophy last night, the Jaguars should definitely have their eyes on one of those playmakers with a top pick this Spring.
Prediction: Ravens – This one won’t even be a challenge for the Ravens. Sure the Jaguars might be able to get a few points or even a TD or two on them, but ultimately Jacksonville will run out of tricks and Joe Flacco will simple aerial bombard them to death. And if Flacco doesn’t do that, Forsett will simply stomp them on the ground.
