The Pittsburgh Steelers held on for a 27-20 win against the Atlanta Falcons on the road to improve their record to 9-5 as the Falcons fell to 5-9, putting their miraculous playoff hopes in danger.
The Falcons scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to trim the Steelers’ lead to seven points, but they were unable to muster any more points.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did not throw a touchdown pass against the Falcons, but he threw for 360 yards on 27-of-35 passing.
Running back Le’Veon Bell finished the job for him twice as he scored two touchdowns with 47 rushing yards on 20 carries. He also caught five passes for 72 yards. Wide receiver Antonio Brown had 10 receptions for 123 yards.
For the Falcons, quarterback Matt Ryan had a respectable performance despite missing leading receiver Julio Jones. He finished with 310 yards and two touchdowns against one interception on 26-of-37 passing.
Wide receiver Harry Douglas picked up the majority of the slack for Jones by catching 10 passes for 131 yards.
Devin Hester caught five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown, and Roddy White contributed a touchdown catch as well.
