The Atlanta Falcons put themselves in position to win the NFC South with a Week 17 win by defeating the New Orleans Saints, 30-14, and eliminating them from the playoffs.

The Atlanta Falcons defeated the New Orleans Saints, 30-14, to keep their NFC South title hopes alive. The Saints, on the other hand, have been eliminated from the playoff hunt as they have fallen to 6-9.
The Falcons now have a 6-9 record and will face the Carolina Panthers for the NFC South title in Week 17.
Quarterback Matt Ryan performed well for the Falcons with 322 yards and a touchdown pass on 30-of-40 passing. Wide receiver Julio Jones returned healthy and instantly re-established himself as Ryan’s top target with seven catches for 107 yards.
Defensive end Osi Umenyiora sealed the Falcons’ win at the very end with a fumble recovery by returning it 86 yards for a touchdown.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees struggled with 313 yards and a touchdown pass with two interceptions on 30-of-47 passing, and he lost the game-ending fumble.
Running back Mark Ingram was held to 38 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Tight end Jimmy Graham caught six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown, but he also dropped key passes while losing a fumble.
