The Philadelphia Eagles travel to the District of Columbia to take on Robert Griffin III and Washington in Week 16 of the NFL season.
The Eagles are trying to figure out if they really have a QB they can win with in Mark Sanchez after the team dropped two straight home games. Despite an impressive 9-5 record, the Eagles may be left out of the playoffs even if they win their final two games unless they get a lot of help from either the Cowboys, Lions or Packers along the way. A loss in this game could effectively knock them out of the playoffs regardless of what happens to the other playoff contenders this week.
Washington has been playing musical chairs at QB due to injuries and terrible performances, but has now come full circle and will start Robert Griffin III for the first time since he was benched back in late November. Washington’s season is effectively over but all the team is interested in now is determining whether Griffin or head coach Jay Gruden have a future with the team. But for a team that is 26th in points scored and 28th in points allowed, Washington isn’t likely to get much of a look against this Eagles team.
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles – As bad as the Eagles have looked on the road at times, Washington is a lot worse at home. The defense is unable to stop the big passing plays – which means Mark Sanchez and the Eagles offense will have a field day to make up for their last two letdown performances.
