Tom Brady will briefly play with the New England Patriots starters against the Buffalo Bills in the last week of the 2014 NFL regular season.
Having completely wrapped up the AFC’s No. 1 overall seed and homefield throughout the playoffs, the Patriots return home for a brief appearance against the Bills before they take the week off and enjoy their first-round bye. Tom Brady has remained terrific and the defense is arguably one of the best head coach Bill Belichik has had to work with since the team’s Superbowl wins.
The Buffalo Bills were close to ending their 15-year playoff drought but fell short after last week’s loss to the Oakland Raiders. All of that effort to put up one of the best defenses in the league were for naught, and now the team has to figure out if QB Kyle Orton truly is a part of their future as the aging veteran gets the last start of the season over EJ Manuel.
Prediction: New England Patriots – Neither of these teams are playing for anything, but it’s hard to imagine the Patriots allowing themselves to get beaten at home with any personnel – even if it is their backups as many people are expecting.
