The Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers will be facing each other in Week 17 for the NFC South title, and the game will be held in Atlanta.
Although they both have a losing record, one of them will win the historically weak division. The winner of this game will be the second team in NFL history to make the playoffs with a losing record after a full season.
The 2010 Seattle Seahawks were first to do this with a 7-9 record, and they won their first-round playoff game at home.
The Falcons have plenty of momentum heading into their regular-season finale as they handily defeated the New Orleans Saints, 30-14.
They have also beaten the Arizona Cardinals and lost to the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers by a touchdown or less in each game. The Packers and Steelers are both expected to be Super Bowl contenders heading into the playoffs.
The Falcons will have to go without running back Steven Jackson though since he has a quad injury. Wide receiver Julio Jones is questionable with a hip injury, but he is expected to play.
Meanwhile, the Panthers have momentum on their side as well with three consecutive wins. Quarterback Cam Newton returned from a fractured back that he sustained in a car accident to lead the Panthers to victory over the Cleveland Browns.
The Falcons offense has more firepower than the Panthers offense, and they will be determined not to let their fans down at home.
Prediction: Falcons 27, Panthers 20
