The Green Bay Packers recovered from a loss to the Buffalo Bills with a 20-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to improve their record to 11-4.
Their defense continued to look fantastic as they have averaged just eight points allowed per game in their past two matches. They will receive a big test from the Detroit Lions as they face off for the NFC North title.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had a solid showing against the Buccaneers with 318 yards and a touchdown on 31-of-40 passing, but he will need to have a memorable game against a tough Lions defense to lock up the MVP award as he battles a calf injury.
Running back Eddie Lacy also performed well against the Buccaneers with 99 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Wide receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb continued to argue that they are the best receiving duo in the NFL as they each eclipsed 100 yards.
Linebacker Clay Matthews continued to stay hot with 2.5 sacks while fellow linebacker Julius Peppers added another two.
Meanwhile, the Lions came away with a 20-14 win against the Chicago Bears. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions with no touchdown passes, but running back Joique Bell ran for 74 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson caught six passes for 103 yards. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh came up with two sacks, and the Lions pass rush will provide a major test for a Packers offensive line that has improved greatly this season.
However, Rodgers and the Packers offense will be deadly as the Packers will be determined to finish 8-0 at Lambeau Field.
Prediction: Packers 27, Lions 17
