The Washington Redskins are coming off a season opener loss to the Houston Texans on the road, and they are looking to even the score against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Redskins lost, 17-6, in Week 1 as quarterback Robert Griffin III failed to make any significant plays apart from a 48-yard pass to tight end Niles Paul.
His accuracy was high, but this is mostly because he threw short passes for the majority of the game. He also fumbled twice and lost one of them.
Running back Alfred Morris looked as consistent as ever with 91 rushing yards on 14 carries, and wide receiver Pierre Garcon continued to be a pass-catching machine with 10 receptions for 77 yards.
The Jaguars looked promising in their first game as they held a 17-0 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles, but they allowed 34 unanswered points. However, their defensive line looked solid as it held running back LeSean McCoy to 74 yards on 21 carries.
Quarterback Chad Henne also looked solid with two touchdowns, and rookie wide receiver Allen Hurns surprised with 110 yards and two touchdown catches.
A key matchup to look out for in this game will be the Jaguars’ defensive line against the Redskins’ running backs and offensive line. It gave the Eagles offensive line trouble by registering four sacks.
The Jaguars’ pass defense will have their hands full with Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson though.
Prediction: Redskins 24, Jaguars 20
