The Dallas Cowboys faced a 21-0 deficit against the St. Louis Rams, but they never quit as they stormed back with 20 unanswered points to win, 34-31. This puts the Cowboys at 2-1 as the Rams fall to 1-2.
After the Rams extended their short lead with a field goal, the Cowboys scored another unanswered 14 points, and they extended their lead with pick-six by linebacker Bruce Carter.
After a touchdown pass by Rams quarterback Austin Davis, the Rams were unable to foil the Cowboys’ comeback.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo finished with 217 yards and two touchdowns against one interception on 18-of-23 passing. Running back DeMarco Murray ran for 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, but his fumbling problem persisted as he lost his third of the season.
Wide receiver Dez Bryant finished with six catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, and his touchdown catch was a 68-yard bomb.
For the Rams, Davis looked promising as he threw for 327 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on 30-of-42 passing. Running back Zac Stacy ran for 67 yards on 12 carries.
