The Houston Texans were dealt their first loss of the season as they fell to the New York Giants, 30-17. The Giants took a 14-0 lead at halftime, but the Texans made it a game at the end of the third quarter as they trailed, 17-10.
However, the Giants scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter before they gave up a touchdown to the Texans with two minutes left. They won their first game of the season.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning looked much better as he threw for 234 yards and two touchdown passes on 21-of-28 passing. Running back Rashad Jennings performed amazingly as he rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries.
Wide receiver Victor Cruz led the Giants with five receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown.
For the Texans, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled mightily. He threw for 289 yards and a touchdown on 20-of-34 passing, but he also threw three interceptions.
The Texans missed running back Arian Foster, who sat out with a hamstring injury. Alfred Blue filled in at running back and performed solidly, rushing for 78 yards on 13 carries.
Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins finished with six catches for 116 yards, and he would have had even more yards if it wasn’t for a holding penalty that negated a long pass he caught.
