The Minnesota Vikings are looking to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints after getting blown out by the New England Patriots, 30-7.
Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel threw four interceptions in their loss, and they were without running back Adrian Peterson due to him being indicted on child abuse charges.
The Vikings will continue with Matt Asiata as their starting running back, and he rushed for 36 yards on 13 carries while adding five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots.
Meanwhile, the Saints are looking for their first win after losing on a last-second field goal to the Cleveland Browns. They will have to do so without running back Mark Ingram, who had another solid game with 80 yards and a touchdown.
Khiry Robinson is expected to get the lion’s share of the carries, but Pierre Thomas will likely receive plenty as well.
Quarterback Drew Brees has gotten off to a slow start, as he was held to 237 passing yards on 27-of-40 passing even though he threw two touchdowns against one interception.
Tight end Jimmy Graham has been incredible though, as he finished with 10 receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the Browns.
The Saints secondary has been disappointing so far this season, so their performance against Cassel will be something to watch out for.
Although they often struggle on the road, the Saints are at home and too hungry to start 0-3 while the Vikings simply don’t have enough firepower to keep up without Peterson.
Prediction: Saints 27, Vikings 17
