The New York Jets host the Chicago Bears in a matchup between two teams in wildly different trajectories.
The Jets are coming off a loss where they gave up an 18-point lead and then had a potential game-tying TD wiped out due to a strange timeout. The team is now 1-1 and facing serious problems with the secondary due to numerous injuries and poor performances. Offensively the Jets have had one of the most potent running attacks in football thanks to a three-headed monster of Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell, as well as two running QBs in Geno Smith and Michael Vick.
The Bears lost their first game to the Bills, but then shocked the world with an incredible comeback win against the San Francisco 49ers thanks to 3 TDs by Brandon Marshall. The Bears present a matchup nightmare for the Jets with Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey and Martellus Bennett. The Bears also have star RB Matt Forte and former Jets WR Santonio Holmes – both of whom can still make plenty of plays.
Prediction: Chicago Bears – The Bears present too many matchup problems for the Jets to handle with their secondary. While the Jets offense plays to the Bears weakness in the rushing game, the Bears are simply too powerful in the passing game for the Jets to keep up in scoring.
