The New Orleans Saints improved their record to 2-3 with a 37-31 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, effectively saving their season.
The Saints faced a 31-20 deficit in the fourth quarter, but they tied it with a field goal by kicker Shayne Graham. In overtime, running back Khiry Robinson ran 18 yards for the game-winning touchdown.
Despite their defensive woes continuing, the Saints were able to come away with a comeback win on their home field.
Robinson led the Saints in rushing with 89 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. However, quarterback Drew Brees continued to struggle as he threw for 371 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions on 35-of-57 passing.
Running back Pierre Thomas led the Saints in receiving with eight catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.
For the Buccaneers, quarterback Mike Glennon threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns with one interception on 19-of-32 passing. Running back Doug Martin was held to 45 yards on 14 carries.
Wide receiver Vincent Jackson experienced his best game of the season as he caught eight passes for 144 yards.
