The Indianapolis Colts won their fourth consecutive game with a 33-28 victory over the Houston Texans, and they held off a furious rally after taking an early 24-0 lead. This broke the string of blowout games on Thursday Night Football.
This appeared to be another blowout in the making in the first quarter though as the Colts led 24-0 at the end of it. However, the Texans scored 14 points in the second quarter before the Colts expanded their lead with a field goal.
In the third quarter, the Texans and Colts each scored a touchdown before Texans defensive end J.J. Watt recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the fourth.
This put the Texans five points behind the Colts, but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and wide receiver Andre Johnson both lost costly fumbles when the game was on the line.
Colts quarterback Andrew Luck put together another MVP-caliber performance with 370 yards and three touchdowns with one interception on 25-of-44 passing.
Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton had the best game of his young career with nine catches for 223 yards and a touchdown.
For the Texans, running back Arian Foster rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Johnson caught seven passes for 99 yards and a touchdown despite losing a fumble.
Fitzpatrick threw for 212 yards and a touchdown on 15-of-23 passing.
