The Arizona Cardinals fell back to Earth as they suffered their first loss of the season to the Denver Broncos, and their defense was picked apart as they lost, 41-20. They will look to recover against the Washington Redskins.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning continued to look like an MVP as he threw for 479 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Cardinals continued to play without starting quarterback Carson Palmer as he was replaced by Drew Stanton once again. Stanton struggled as he was held to 118 yards on 11-of-26 passing. He eventually left the game and was replaced by Logan Thomas, who completed one pass for 81 yards. This play went for a touchdown.
Stanton suffered a concussion in the Cardinals’ loss, but he has been cleared to start against the Redskins.
The Redskins are also coming off a loss to a top team in the NFL as they lost to the Seattle Seahawks. Quarterback Kirk Cousins performed reasonably well with 283 yards and two touchdown passes, and wide receiver DeSean Jackson caught five passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.
They will have to face another NFC West team on the road, and the Cardinals have been a tough defensive team while not playing the Broncos.
The Redskins have offensive firepower, but the Cardinals have enough offense to take the Redskins and have a defense that can suffocate the Redskins offense.
Prediction: Cardinals 23, Redskins 14
