Eagles Rams preview
The Philadelphia Eagles escaped the St. Louis Rams with a 34-28 victory after the Rams put together a serious comeback bid in the fourth quarter. They will look to continue their hot 4-1 start as they face the New York Giants.
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was held to 207 yards, but he threw two touchdown passes despite throwing an interception. Running back LeSean McCoy had a somewhat better game with 81 rushing yards on 24 carries.
The pass rush shined as the Eagles came up with four sacks. Two of those were registered by outside linebacker Connor Barwin.
They will have to face a Giants team that has all the momentum though. The Giants have won three games in a row since starting the season 0-2.
They beat the Atlanta Falcons, 30-20, in a home game. Quarterback Eli Manning continued to play great football as he threw two touchdown passes without an interception. He has thrown eight touchdown passes with one interception in his last three games.
However, the Giants offense will have to survive without running back Rashad Jennings, who is nursing a sprained knee. Rookie Andre Williams has looked solid in limited action though, and he should be able to keep the offense afloat.
If the Giants can force turnovers from the Eagles offense, they should be able to control the clock with Williams and Manning taking care of the ball well. It will be difficult to contain the Eagles offense on the road though, and McCoy is on the verge of a bounceback game.
Prediction: Giants 27, Eagles 21
