The St. Louis Rams are coming off a close loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After trailing 34-14 in the third quarter, the Rams scored two touchdowns before the Eagles stopped them to seal the win. The Rams will seek their second win of the season against the San Francisco 49ers.
Rams quarterback Austin Davis threw for 375 yards and three touchdown passes on 29-of-49 passing. The Rams received an injury scare as running back Zac Stacy went down with a strained calf, but he is expected to be okay for Monday night.
Wide receiver Brian Quick continued to be the key receiver for the Rams as he caught five passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
The Rams will face a 49ers team that has regained its form with a two-game winning streak. The 49ers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, marking their first game against former quarterback Alex Smith.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick was efficient as he threw for 201 yards and a touchdown pass on 14-of-26 passing. Running back Frank Gore looked great as he rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries.
This game may be a defensive matchup since both teams rank in the top five in pass defense, and the Rams are first with only 192.3 passing yards per game.
However, the 49ers have a balanced offense that will keep the Rams on their toes. Plus, they have momentum and more talent that will put them at 4-2.
Prediction: 49ers 24, Rams 14
