The St. Louis Rams pulled off the biggest upset of the week as they defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 28-26, to improve to 2-4. The Rams took a 21-6 lead at halftime, but the Seahawks came storming back.
They scored 13 unanswered points, but the Rams scored what proved to be a difference-making touchdown to take a 28-19 lead. The Seahawks pulled within two points before the Rams were pinned deep in their own end zone.
The Rams appeared to be headed toward a punt that would give the Seahawks an opportunity to complete their comeback, but punter Johnny Hekker pulled off a spectacular fake punt play that allowed the Rams to gain a first down and run out the clock.
Quarterback Austin Davis played flawlessly as he threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 18-of-21 passing, and rookie running back Tre Mason had the best game of his career with 85 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
For the Seahawks, quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-36 passing and added 106 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin caught seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.
