The Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles are both 5-1, and they will face each other in a clash of NFC titans. The Cardinals prevented the Oakland Raiders from winning their first game of the season and defeated them, 24-13.
Quarterback Carson Palmer performed solidly and has helped rejuvenate the Cardinals offense since returning from a shoulder injury.
He threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 22-of-31 passing against the Raiders. Running back Andre Ellington also looked great as he ran for 88 yards while adding 72 receiving yards on six receptions.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming off a bye week after shutting out the New York Giants, 27-0. However, quarterback Nick Foles has still looked shaky, leading many to dub his season a sophomore slump.
However, running back LeSean McCoy returned to form against the Giants as he ran for 149 yards on 22 carries.
The offense will face a major test from a Cardinals defense that has been mostly dominant aside from a blowout loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Cardinals have home-field advantage on their side, and the Eagles still have yet to prove they aren’t a fluky team although the same argument can be made for the Cardinals.
Prediction: Cardinals 24, Eagles 20
