The Carolina Panthers are coming off a 38-17 blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers, and they will look to stay ahead in a weak NFC South as they face the Seattle Seahawks at home.
The Panthers are 3-3-1 after their loss. Quarterback Cam Newton was neutralized by the Packers defense as he was held to 205 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception.
The defense has been a major disappointment this season after being one of the elite units last season as it now ranks 27th in total defense and 29th in scoring defense with 27.9 points allowed per game.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks have also taken a step back on defense. They are 19th in the NFL in scoring defense with 23.5 points allowed per game. They have allowed at least 28 points in each of their last two losses.
Quarterback Russell Wilson recovered from a poor outing against the Dallas Cowboys with 313 passing yards and two touchdown passes with 106 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on seven carries against the St. Louis Rams.
This wasn’t enough though as the Seahawks lost, 28-26. Running back Marshawn Lynch was held to 53 yards on 18 carries.
The Seahawks are too talented to fall to 3-4 though, and they have the offensive firepower to take advantage of a weak Panthers defense.
Prediction: Seahawks 31, Panthers 21
