The Atlanta Falcons will face the Detroit Lions in the next London game of the NFL season, and they are hoping to save their season after starting 2-5.
The Falcons offensive line has continued to struggle greatly as injuries have piled up. Left tackle Sam Baker already sustained a season-ending torn patellar injury, but the Falcons have also lost their top two centers.
Their season was illustrated by a 29-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and their running game looked shaky as it only managed 68 total yards.
Wide receiver Roddy White had his best game of the season as he caught nine passes for 100 yards and the only Falcons touchdown of the game.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 5-2 after coming off a 24-23 comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints. They still rank first in the NFL in total defense and second in scoring defense.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford came through in the clutch and persevered without wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and Golden Tate had the best game of his career with 10 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown.
The Lions will undoubtedly shut down the Falcons’ running game, and their pass defense will give quarterback Matt Ryan a hard time. The Falcons will likely score some garbage-time points with their prolific offense though.
Prediction: Lions 27, Falcons 21
