The San Francisco 49ers are seeking redemption as they return from their bye week after getting blown out, 42-17, by the Denver Broncos. They will resume their season against the St. Louis Rams.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick struggled against the Broncos as he threw for 263 yards, but he was held to one touchdown pass while throwing an interception.
Running back Frank Gore was not able to get anything going as he was held to 20 yards on nine carries.
The Rams are also looking to redeem themselves as they were just blown out by the Kansas City Chiefs, 34-7. Quarterback Austin Davis was held to 160 yards and a touchdown with an interception.
Their pass defense struggled as they allowed Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith to complete 25-of-29 of his passes. Although he did not throw a touchdown pass, they allowed running back Jamaal Charles to rush for two touchdowns.
The Rams pass defense also struggled greatly in their last meeting with the 49ers as Kaepernick threw for a season-high 343 yards and three touchdowns.
The 49ers will not be any easier to take on in San Francisco, and the team has suffered injuries to wide receiver Brian Quick and left tackle Jake Long, who were placed on injured reserve.
Prediction: 49ers 35, Rams 21
