Rossoneri official happy with current options at the club.
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that he has no regrets after seeing Carlos Tevez join rivals Juventus.
The Rossoneri had been close to sealing a switch for the Argentine international back in January, but instead agreed on a deal to take Mario Balotelli back to Milan.
Galliani had revealed earlier this month that he had faith in Tevez and that the former Manchester City striker would not join a Serie A rival.
However, the 29-year-old has done just that by signing for Juventus, although he claims he has not been in contact with Galliani for some time.
Nevertheless, the Milan official believes the club are in safe hands with the current attacking options that boss Massimiliano Allegri has at his disposal, and they will not regret missing out on signing Tevez.
“It wasn’t a transfer that has wiped the smile off my face,” Galliani told journalists outside of the Lega Calcio offices as quoted by football-italia.net.
“Seeing Tevez in a Juventus shirt has no effect on me.
“Tevez said that Juventus wanted him more than Milan? That is the truth. We stopped because nobody left.
“We have five attackers who numerically and quality wise are more than sufficient, so it is therefore obvious that nobody could come in if someone didn’t head out.
“We’ve said for some time that we can’t buy if we don’t sell.
“We’ll start with the five attackers that we have – Mario Balotelli, Giampaolo Pazzini, Stephan El Shaarawy, Robinho and M’Baye Niang. They offer us certainties,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen how effective Tevez proves to be in Turin, but it is clear that Galliani has a great deal of confidence in those currently at Milan.
Speculation continues to suggest that there will be departures this summer, and it will be a fascinating summer at Milanello if the club were to obtain transfer funds to strengthen the squad.
