Milan’s Balotelli could be returning to England.
AC Milan striker and former Manchester City ace Mario Balotelli could be returning to the Premier League as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur close in, according to the Daily Express.
The 23-year-old has been prone to controversy throughout his career and now the Italian’s underachieving club have had enough of Balotelli’s antics.
The Italy international had a public bust-up with journalists after Milan’s 2-0 Serie A loss to AS Roma on Friday night and made a particular attack against Sky Sport Italia pundit Giancarlo Marocchi.
Balotelli then took to Twitter to reveal his opinion to his followers.
Mamma mia divido l Italia in 2! Però! Mentre quasi tutto l Estero è unito con me! What a strange game:-)
— Mario Balotelli (@FinallyMario) April 26, 2014
Which translates to – “Mamma mia, I divide Italy in two! Amazing! While almost everyone overseas is united with me! What a strange game.”
This outburst is said to have been the last straw for Milan who are now looking to offload Balotelli just 18 months after he arrived from City.
During the forward’s time at the Etihad Stadium he was a favourite of the British media, largely for his off field activities – which included painting a Bentley in camouflage colours and setting fireworks of inside his house.
Things finally came to an end with the Citizens when Balotelli had a training ground scuffle with the manager Roberto Mancini and the Italian was sold to the San Siro in January 2013.
Yet both the Gunners and Spurs are keen on bringing the attacker back to England as they search to improve their respective forward lines.
