North Melbourne forward Majak Daw has been ruled out of the rest of the 2014 AFL season due to injury.
The 23-year-old suffered a subtalar dislocation (foot) after he went down from a one-on-one marking contest whilst playing in Werribee’s 40-point loss to the Footscray Bulldogs in the VFL on Sunday.
Sudanese-born Daw was rushed to Epworth Hopsital for pain management and scans.
Daw won’t require surgery to repair his foot at this stage, but is likely to be placed in a cast for up to six weeks.
It’s the second year in a row his season has ended prematurely. Daw required a season-ending knee reconstruction in 2013 with just a few rounds remaining.
The 195cm, 97kg man-mountain played eight AFL games this season for the Kangaroos, kicking six goals.
