North Melbourne player Trent Dumont and another man have been charged over an alleged taxi robbery in Adelaide earlier this month.
Police said the second man contacted police on Monday following the release of CCTV images of the pair inside the cab at Banksia Park, leading to Dumond’s arrest on Tuesday.
The two men allegedly threatened and robbed the driver during the early hours of October 12.
Police said the tax driver was not seriously hurt, and the two men were charged with aggravated robbery and were released on bail.
The pair will return to court on November 25.
“As the matter will now be dealt with through the court, the club will not be making any further comment on the allegations or charges,” North Melbourne said in a statement.
Dumont was the Kangaroos’ second selection in the 2013 national draft, but did not make a senior appearance in 2014.
